The Air Jordan 6 will forever be the shoe of Jordan’s first title with the Chicago Bulls. Jordan would win the
scoring title, first-team All-NBA and All-Defensive team selections, and his second MVP award.
The Air Jordan 6 was the last to feature an important detail – the Nike Air branding. A detail Nike often
changes with the Jumpman branding, the Nike Air was featured on the back of the shoe for the last time. This
coincides with the continued rise of the Jordan Brand, which would begin to separate Nike's line later in the
decade altogether.
The shoe featured five original colorways. Jordan predominantly wore three during NBA games, the Black
Infrareds, White Infrareds, and Carmines. The Carmines were a unique colorway at that point in the Air Jordan
line and ended up being unique to the entire first run of original Air Jordans (1-14). The White/Sport Blues
have only been seen outside of NBA games, including “A Midsummer Nights Magic” – Magic Johnson’s Charity event
in 1991.
