The end of an era. The Air Jordan 13 would be the last shoe officially released during Jordan’s run with the
Bulls. The Air Jordan 13’s release would feature a total of 7 shoes, including five highs (mids) and two lows.
Additionally, Jordan would wear at least two known player exclusive black lows in the playoffs.
Spike Lee would once again feature an Air Jordan model in his movie. “He Got Game,” starring Denzel Washington
and future Jordan brand athlete Ray Allen, released in 1998. The popular White/True Red-Black colorway was
nicknamed the ‘He Got Games’ after a movie scene.
The Jordan brand began to stand alongside Nike, and the marketing reflected that. Jordan himself was marketed as
‘CEO Jordan,’ indicating he is leading his brand. The shoes removed any Nike branding on the box, on the shoe, or
in the shoes' soles since the Air Jordan 11.
Jordan would earn his 5th league MVP and his 6th NBA Finals MVP and lead the league in scoring. This would be his
final championship.
Jordan was seen playing in four of the main five high (mid) models. He was seen at the 1997 Ryder Cup wearing the
Flints. He has never been seen wearing any of the original Air Jordan 13 colorway lows.
