The Air Jordan 16 is the second shoe released post-Jordan’s second retirement. Notably, it was the first Air Jordan since the Air Jordan 2 to release without beloved designer Tinker Hatfield at the helm.

Jordan would wear the Air Jordan 16 ‘Ginger’ in a preseason game against Detroit, making it the only version Jordan would wear before transitioning to the Air Jordan 17 – and our delight – other Air Jordan retros. The ‘Ginger’ colorway was introduced with the Air Jordan 14, although some would argue the yellow-ish colorway began with the Air Jordan 13 ‘Chutneys.’
